  • Adult and Dislocated Worker Program

    The Adult Worker Program equips eligible participants with the tools and resources needed to secure a long-term career. Services are focused on getting you the help you need to get a job or find the training program that meets your goals to be self sustainable.

    The Dislocated Worker Program provides training and career opportunities to individuals who have recently lost their job. This program focuses on identifying any challenges that may keep an individual from finding a new job or education. It matches people with the best job and/or educational program that meets their unique needs and goals.

  • Services for Youth

    The services for youth program (Ola I Ka Hana, offers free education and job services to those meeting age requirements. The program is ideal for young people who have potential but have struggled in traditional school settings. Each youth works with a Youth Specialist to develop educational and employment goals and to address other individual needs.

    Services include:
    • High School Equivalency or GED
    • Vocational exploration
    • Off-site educational activities
    • Leadership development
    • Mentorship
    • Job placement assistance

  • Services for Seniors

    The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides unemployed, low-income individuals who are 55 years and older and who have poor employment prospects with the opportunity to engage in training through part-time community service assignments.

    Through these assignments, participants will be able to develop skills and experiences which they may be able to utilize to transition into unsubsidized employment.

  • Services for Veterans

    The American Job center's prepare America’s veterans, service members and their spouses, for meaningful careers, provide them with employment resources and expertise, protect their employment rights and promote their employment opportunities. *Veterans receive priority of service.

    Specialized veteran staff known as the Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) staff are military veterans and have received specialized training at the National Veterans Training Institute (NVTI). They understand how to bridge the skills and experiences of veterans with that of the job requirements in local industries. Veteran staff at the AJCs are prepared to help employers to leverage federal and state hiring incentives aimed at reducing the costs in hiring and training veterans for employment.

    (Priority of service means, with respect to any qualified Department of Labor employment and job-training programs, that Veterans, 1 and Eligible Spouses, 2 shall be given priority over non-Veterans for the receipt of employment, training, and placement services, notwithstanding any other provision of the law.)
